This map was prepared using materials from the Redtail Ranch preliminary plat application submitted to the Town of Erie, GIS data from the Colorado Energy & Carbon Management Commission (ECMC) web site at https://ecmc.state.co.us/ , and property data from Weld County.
Stratus Companies has been working to submit this land use application to the Town of Erie for almost 5 years; the site has been plagued by environmental concerns from improperly disposed hazardous waste at the old Neuhauser landfill. The Town of Erie Council rejected their preliminary plat application on June 25, 2024. Councilmember Emily Baer explained that the council can not approve a site that is “spectacularly contaminated” while also saying the town is committed to prioritizing the health and safety of the residents.
